Car Atop Concrete Barrier Leads to DWI Arrest
Police say they found the driver of the vehicle walking down the road, not too far from the accident at the Exit 10 tollbooth.
A Merrimack man was arrested after police found his car resting atop a concrete barrier at the Exit 10 northbound tollbooth early Sunday morning.
New Hampshire State Police were called to the scene of a single car accident at 3:05 a.m. where they found a 2005 Nissan Altima with heavy front end damage had struck the concrete barriers protecting the tollbooth. The car had come to a stop on top of the barrier and was unoccupied when police arrived.
Searching the area, Troopers and officers of the Merrimack Police Department located a man walking near the intersection of Continental Boulevard and Daniel Webster Highway. The man was identified as Ryan Demers, 24, of Merrimack. After a brief investigation, Demers was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a subsequent offense.
