Dave McCray to run for NH Executive Council

McCray: "The timing is right. We need some more conservative voices."

Dave McCray says he is running for the New Hampshire Executive Council.

McCray, chairman of the Merrimack Business Association and co-owner of Silver Chariot Transportation, is a former Merrimack Town Councilor.

"The timing is right," he said in a phone interview with Patch. "We need some more conservative voices. What's been going on there is a disgrace."

The disgrace, he elaborated, is about the lack of fiscally conservative leadership.

The state filing period opens in June.

District 5 is currently represented by Councilor Deb Pignatelli, a Democrat from Nashua, who announced earlier this month that she would not seek re-election this year.

The Executive Council is currently comprised of three Democrats and two Republicans.

The territory of District 5:  Amherst, Antrim, Bennington, Brookline, Deering, Dunbarton, Fitzwilliam, Francestown, Greenfield, Greenville, Hillsborough, Hollis, Hudson, Jaffrey, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Mason, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, New Boston, New Ipswich, Peterborough, Richmond, Rindge, Sharon, Swanzey, Temple, Troy, Weare, Wilton, and Windsor, and the city of Nashua.
