Deep Arctic Freeze Hits Merrimack

Icy roads, cold temps return: Merrimack residents woke up on Tuesday morning to freezing cold temperatures and more icy roads thanks to a deep arctic freeze that arrived in New Hampshire overnight. High temperatures will be in the teens today.

Planning Board, Town Council meetings: The Merrimack Planning Board is scheduled to meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room and the Town Council will hold its first meeting of 2014 on Thursday at 7 p.m., which will be preceded by a public hearing on 59 Wire Road. The agendas for these and other town meetings can be viewed on the town web site.

Volunteers needed: Several town boards and committees need members of the community who wish to volunteer their time and expertise. The openings are listed on the town's web site. If interested, please contact the Town Manager's office.

Need to get rid of your Christmas tree: The town's Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees in the brush pile free of charge for residents who need a place to dispose of their trees.

Get your 2014 hunting or fishing license. New Hampshire fishing and hunting licenses for 2014 are now available for purchase.
