DRA Confirms Tax Rate at 70-Cent Increase Over 2012/13
Tax bills due by Dec. 18 to avoid interest penalties.

The State Department of Revenue Administration has confirmed the Town of Merrimack's 2013 property tax rate at $23.91 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. This represents an increase of 70 cents per thousand dollars of property valuation, compared to the 2012 rate of $23.21. The components of the 2012 and 2013 rates are presented in the chart pictured above.
With the new tax rate, a tax bill for a $300,000 home is $7,173 versus $6,963 paid on last year's tax rate. That's an increase of $210.
Town Clerk/Tax Collector Diane Trippett said tax bills will be mailed to residents by Nov. 15 and payments are due Wednesday, Dec. 18, to avoid interest penalties of 12 percent per annum. Any resident with questions on their property tax assessment should contact the Assessing Department at (603) 424-5136. For any other tax-related question, please call the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s office at (603) 424-3651.
