Fire Displaces Amherst Road Residents
Merrimack Fire Department: No injuries reported in April 3 fire.
The occupants of a home on Amherst Road escaped unarmed from a fire at their house April 3, but they were unable to return to the badly damaged residence, Merrimack Fire Department reports.
Merrimack Engines 1 and 2, along with Fire Chief Michael Currier and Fire Marshal John Manuele and a rescue ambulance, responded to the first call and firefighters requested a working fire alarm upon seeing the heavy smoke from the structure. Merrimack's Engine 3 was called, as was mutual aid from Nashua and Manchester to help.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 20 minutes, and it was declared under control at 10:25 p.m.
Firefighters cleared the scene by 11:35 p.m. No injuries of personnel were reported.
The origin of the fire remains under investigation.
