FIRE LOG: Small Dryer Fire Ignited by Cigarette Lighter

Friday, Oct. 18, 2013
5:49 a.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the vicinity of Reeds Ferry Lumber for a reported motor vehicle accident.
Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found a vehicle that had left the road and struck a parked pickup truck. An adult male and teenage female were treated and transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital
9:23 a.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a single-family residence on Miriam Road for an adult female with breathing difficulty.

Ambulance 1 responded and found an adult female with shortness of breath and chest pain. The patient was treated and transported to the Elliot Hospital.
9:24 a.m.: Engine 1, C3 and K1 conducted a fire drill at the Merrimack Middle School.

3:46 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the Merrimack Medical Center, 696 Daniel Webster Highway, for an adult male with musculoskeletal pain.
Ambulance 1 responded and found an adult male with musculoskeletal pain. The patient was treated and transported to St. Joseph Hospital.
11:19 a.m.: Station 2 was dispatched to a single-family residence on Erik Street for a fire alarm activation.
Engine 2 responded and found no cause for the alarm. The alarm had reset before the arrival of the engine.
Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013
11:44 a.m.: Station1 was dispatched to a single family residence on Wire Road for an odor check.
Engine 1 responded and found discernable odor or any hazardous conditions.
12:24 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to Innovations Day Spa, 228 Naticook Road for a fire alarm activation.
Engine 1 and 2 responded and found a small extinguished fire in the area of a clothes dryer. It was determined that the fire was caused by a worker using a cigarette lighter for light while working on the dryer. Lint was ignited and burned in the rear of the dryer. The fire was fully extinguished and the area was overhauled before turning the building back over to the owners.
12:42 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the Merrimack Police Department to check a subject in custody.
Ambulance 1 responded and found no issues with the subject.
1:27 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the Merrimack Police Department to check a subject in custody.
Ambulance 1 responded and found a male subject who had been tazed. The patient was evaluated and refused treatment.
3:43 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to a multi-family residence on Coventry Court for a medical alarm activation.
Ambulance 1 responded and was unable to locate any medical problems.
6:08 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the parking lot at Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 615 Daniel Webster Highway, for an adult male with chest pain.
Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found an adult male having a panic attack. The patient was evaluated and refused transport.
7:22 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a single-family residence on Pinetree Lane for a reported illegal outside burn.
Forestry 1 responded and found a legal outside bonfire. The homeowner had a valid permit and was in compliance with all burning regulations.
Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013
11:17 a.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the Ida Mae’s Restaurant, 600, Daniel Webster Highway, for an adult female having a seizure..
Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found an adult female with neurological issues. The patient was treated and transported to the Catholic Medical Center.
7:13 p.m.: Engine 2 was dispatched to the Martel Field parking lot off Atherton Road for a reported brush fire.
Engine 2 responded and extinguished a small illegal campfire. Two teenagers were left in the custody of the Merrimack Police.
11:14 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a single-family home on East Ridge Road to assist the Police Department.
Ambulance 1 responded and found an adult female with behavioral issues. The patient was evaluated and transported was refused.
