Flood Gives Light Hearted 'Roast' of Fellow Councilors

Jackie Flood was honored for her service on the Town Council on Thursday night.

Jackie Flood was recognized on Thursday night by her peers and members of the public for her term spent on the Merrimack Town Council.

Flood was elected to the council three years ago and decided that one term was what she was looking for, to have the opportunity to serve the community. She opted not to run for re-election and was replaced Tuesday night by Dave Yakuboff, who stepped down from the council last year for health reasons.

During Flood's final meeting as a councilor, she was honored with a cake and a plaque and with kind words from her colleagues who thanked her for her humor and gentle nature she brought to the Town Council during the last three years.

Flood has been a longtime member of many committees around town, with her husband Peter, and she will continue her role on the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Committee going forward.

Before the cake was cut, however, Flood had a little treat of her own, a good-natured ribbing for the people she has spent so many hours with since 2010.
