Fund Started for Cop Shot in Watertown

Here are five things you should know as you start your Tuesday.

1. Fund for recovering cop. A fund has been set up to assist MBTA Officer Richard "Dic" Donohue who was shot in the line of duty Thursday night in a firefight with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. Donohue, who's wife Kim is an Exeter native and an Exeter High School graduate, was struck in the leg causing severe damage to his femoral artery according to doctors in a Sunday press conference. He was admitted to the hospital in full cardiac arrest and extremely critical blood loss. To help Donohue, his wife and their 6-month-old baby get through the long uphill battle they face, make a donation at the Officer Richard Donohue Fund website.

2. Fund for Celeste and Sydney Corcoran. Consider supporting this worthy cause – two victims, a mother and daughter, who suffered traumatic injuries in the Marathon bombing blast. The Nashua connection is Kevin Corcoran, their husband/father, who works part time at Sky Meadow Country Club.

3. Hairthurium blog. Looking for the best hairspray for the styles you like to wear? Michele Henna, owner of Hairthurium breaks hairspray down for you in her latest blog post: Hairspray Help~tips and advice from Hairthurium

4. Marathon bombing affects nation. Over the weekend, we ran a cool map that shows all of the Patch sites across the country who've written at least one story about the Boston Marathon bombings and the ensuing aftermath. With Patch in more than 900 communities around the country, the number of stories posted about this tragedy, by our network alone, is staggering. It seems like a connection could be made at least once in just about every city and town that Patch represents. Check out the interactive map here.

5. Weather watch. Today's forecast, and for the next couple days, looks to be a little wet. A chance of showers, mainly after 11 a.m. otherwise cloudy, with a high near 48. Tonight, showers likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Patchy fog after 9 p.m., otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 37.
