Get Fit and Feel Good With 2 Merrimack Run/Walks
Here are 5 thing you should know as you start your Monday.

1. Community activity. Looking to get out and get active? There are two run/walks in Merrimack this weekend, one benefiting the Easter Seals and one benefitting James Mastricola Elementary School. First up, the second annual JMES Family Fun Run/Walk will be Saturday, April 13, with a one mile course. Race day check in and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and race at 9:30. A welcome and warm up starts at 9:15 a.m.Stick around after for a family fun day with activities including an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, face painting, carnival games with prizes, and more. More information on the flyer above. Race to Renu will be held the following day, Sunday, April 14, with the race beginning at 9 a.m. Register online at Millennium Running's website. All proceeds from Race to Renu, hosted by Renu Body Spa and Salon, will be donated to Easter Seals NH. Each runner will receive a free beer post-race and stick around for after party that includes a silent auction.
2. ICYMI. If you spot helicopters flying over Merrimack the middle of this week, worry not. PSNH will be, weather permitting, conducting aerial patrols for vegetation maintenance near transmission lines. Read more here.
3. Rabies Clinic. Merrimack's annual rabies clinic for dogs and cats will be Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the garage located behind the town offices on Baboosic Lake Road. Rabies vaccine for dogs and cats will be provided at a cost of $20 per shot. Residents and non-residents are all welcome. Please bring dogs on a leash and cats should be in carriers. For those who do not have a carrier for their cat, a pillow case works very well. The Town Clerk's office will open this Saturday morning for the convenience of residents who wish to register their dogs while they are there. For further information, contact Lynn Christensen at 424-0084.

4. Facebook find. We found this tidbit on the Merrimack Police Department Facebook page over the weekend: "We wanted to let everyone know that we've partnered with Hannah Vaccaro of Merrimack High School to help her collect reusable water bottles for her relief effort to provide clean watter to Haiti. So drop of those water bottles in the bin in our Lobby-Thank you! You can visit www.runningwaterrace.com for more info on her project."
5. Weather watch. Get out and enjoy the weather today, because great temps couple with sunny skies should make it pretty beautiful (and the rest of the week is looking pretty rainy). Today's forecast calls for sunny skie with a high near 65. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Tonight, Showers likely, mainly after 4 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 45.
