Get Your First Treat of the Season at Axel's Today

Five things you should know as you start your Thursday.

1. Axel's opens. Ice cream fans rejoice. Axel's Food and Ice Cream is opening for the season today at 11 a.m. Axel's is located just south of Exit 12 at 608 Daniel Webster Highway. Follow Axel's on Facebook and Twitter, and better yet, stop in for your first treat of the season today (it's supposed to be beautiful out!)

2. Guest speaker. This morning's guest speaker at the Merrimack Rotary Club is U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte. She is due to address the attendees of the weekly meeting of the local service group before moving on to tour Elbit Systems at 9 a.m., attend the New England Council Luncheon in Windham at 11:30 a.m. and tour FlexEnergy in Portsmouth at 3:15 p.m.

3. Letters to the Editor. Merrimack Patch will accept Letters to the Editor regarding the upcoming election until 5 p.m. on Friday in order to ensure publication prior to next Tuesday's election we will run letters through Sunday, April 7. 4. AM Networking. Mark your calendars for April 5. Join the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce for AM Networking PLUS at the Merrimack Chamber offices at the Residence Inn on Daniel Webster Highway. AM events are free and open to anyone with an interest in networking! This week's guest presenter is Michelle Pinkham-McRoberts, Transition Coordinator at the Merrimack High School. She will present the paid and non-paid programs that the high school offers businesses to help train the workforce of tomorrow.

Go exchange business cards, contact information, and to set up one-on-one meetings with participants with the goal of becoming each others' referral partners. AM Networking runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
