Historical Scavenger Hunt to honor Matthew Thornton

In honor of a 300th birthday, the historical scavenger hunt begins June 20 and ends at the July 4th Fun Day.

This sounds like fun. From a notice on the town of Merrimack's website:

In honor of Matthew Thornton's 300th birthday, the Merrimack Historical Society and Heritage Commissions are joining forces to hold a Historical Scavenger Hunt beginning on June 20 and ending at the July 4th Fun Day in town.

There are "passports" available at the Town Manager's office. Each "passport" will direct you to one of 14 historical sites in town to begin your search. There will be a plastic box mounted on a wooden post at the location. In the box will be description of the site you have located, a sheet of stickers and directions to the next site. Place one sticker in the appropriate spot on your passport, and continue your journey.

When you have completed the entire 14 sites, take your passport to the Rotary Club information booth at the Fun Day to get your prize. HINT: The sites are all located by street addresses, but some are at homes, other buildings, other locations and some in graveyards. Happy Hunting.
