Hundreds Celebrate Opening Day for MYA Baseball

Friday night was Merrimack Youth Association's Opening Day parade, ceremony and game at Bise Field.

Master of Ceremonies Frank Saia revved up the kids and the crowd before introducing Ed Orleans, Assistant State Commissioner of Cal Ripken Baseball, who said a few words about the strength of the Merrimack baseball program.

Merrimack High School Baseball player Justin Duhamel, known by his peers in the baseball community as Dewey, was then invited to throw out the first pitch.

With the pitch thrown and the cry of "Let's play ball!" from the teams gathered around the in field, the season officially began.
