Job Hunt: Head of Children's and Teen Services

The Merrimack Public Library is hiring a children's librarian.

Due to an in-house promotion the Merrimack Public Library has an opening for a full-time Head of Children's and Teens Services. The Library seeks a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic and creative with excellent communication skills and digital fluency.

The successful candidate will use their in-depth knowledge of traditional and virtual resources, technology, children's/teen literature and youth-driven trends to build an engaging collection and initiate innovative and fresh services for patrons ages birth to 18 and their caretakers onsite and out in our community.

This individual supervises a staff of four aides and participates in the management team.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS required with professional library experience in children's services or equivalent; proficiency in Microsoft applications required; supervisory experience preferred; knowledge of emerging mobile and social technologies helpful; familiarity with Polaris a plus.

Salary: Starting salary for this full-time position ranges from $39,000-$41,500/year depending on experience; excellent benefit package including NHRS, health and dental insurance.
