June Has Three Birthstones: Pearl, Alexandrite and Moonstone

Welcome to June 2013. Here's Five Things you should know today, June 3, 2013.

1) Merrimack weather. There's a chance of showers and a T-storm today in Merrimack, according to the National Weather Service. Expect variable weather, as they say.

2) Town Center. The Merrimack Town Center committee is scheduled to meet today, June 3, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room at Town Hall.

3) Kindergarten and first grade. Congrats to parents and guardians with young ones entering kindergarten and first grade. School Superintendent Marjorie Chiafery has provided the following information for those pupils for the 2013-14 school year: 2013 kindergarten and first grade registration.

4) Books rule. The Junior Book Group is tonight at 6:30 at the Merrimack Public Library. This monthly group is for those 7 and older. This month's book, "Shredderman: Secret Identity," is by Wendelin VanDraanen.

5) Con Comm. The Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet tonight, 6:30.
