Local Man Charged with Simple Assault

A Merrimack man was arrested after police say he assaulted another person on Sunday just after midnight.

Jason Turner, 31, of London Court was charged with simple assault after police say he was involved in a heated argument before he struck the victim. According to the press release issued by Merrimack Police Capt. Peter Albert, police interviewed several parties at the scene and determined that Turner had committed that offense.

Turner was later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 2 at Merrimack District Court, according to police.
