Man Accused Of Attempting To Bury A Car With Bark Mulch In Merrimack

Nicolas Bissonette of Nashua was charged with criminal trespassing and operating an unauthorized vehicle by Merrimack police on Thursday.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police responded to an unusual call of a person using a skid steer to bury a car in bark mulch on Thursday.

Police arrived on Sandpiper Lane at a condominium complex and found an individual actively trying to bury a car in the bark mulch. Police accused Nicolas Bissonette, 31, of Nashua of operating the skid steer. It was learned during the investigation that Bissonette did not have permission to use the skid steer, nor did he have permission to be on the property, according to police.

Bissonette was arrested without incident and transported to the Merrimack police station where he was processed and released on personal recognizance Bail. Bissonette faces charges of criminal trespassing and unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle.

According to radio transmissions, Bissonette was familiar with the woman who owned the car he was allegedly covering in mulch. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the vehicle from under the mulch, and to assist in removing the debris from inside the vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Merrimack District Court on May 19, to answer to the charges.
