Man Faces Theft Charge for Failing to Make Bank Deposit

A Merrimack man who neglected to deposit money from a local electronics store at the bank at the end of the night was arrested last week for theft.

Jeffrey Bissett, 21, of 33 Brieanne Drive, Merrimack, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking when he turned himself in more than a month after the crime was allegedly committed.

On Dec. 18, Bissett was supposed to deposit $330 bank for the electronics store he was employed by, but he never did, Merrimack Police say. Authorities were alerted to the theft on Jan. 11 and after a short investigation, obtained a warrant for Bissett's arrest.

Bissett turned himself in to police on Jan. 22. He was charged and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Merrimack's district court on Feb. 5 to answer to the charge.
