Merrimack Man Charged With Pulling Fake Fire Alarm

Other arrests made for drunken driving, driving after suspension, criminal mischief and more.

A Merrimack man was arrested over the weekend for pulling a fire alarm at the London Court apartment building and fleeing the area.

Alan Bell, 28, of 1 Cardinal Court, Merrimack, was charged with setting a false fire alarm.

Members of the Merrimack police and fire departments were called to London Court at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 for a fire alarm. After a brief investigation, authorities determined the alarm to be false

Officers say they learned a male, identified as being Bell, had pulled a fire alarm within the building and then fled the area prior to officer’s arrival. An arrest warrant was completed for Bell’s arrest. On Jan. 28, Bell turned himself in to the Merrimack Police. He was released on $ 1, 500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack's district court to answer to the charge.

Jarrod Smith, 33, of 25 E. Chamberlain Road, Merrimack, on two counts of criminal mischief. Police were called on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 2:11 a.m. to 25 E. Chamberlain Road for a 911 call for a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, a brief investigation determined Smith had damaged two doors within the residence, police say. He was arrested and released on $ 2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack's district court on Jan. 29 to answer to the charges.

Lindsey Collins, 22, of 25 Warsaw Ave., No. 1, Manchester, on charges of disobeying a police officer, operating under the influence of liquor, operating after suspension subsequent, operating without financial responsibility, and possession of a prescription drug. On Jan. 24, just after 5p.m., Merrimack Police stopped a motor vehicle on Bedford Road after they say they witnessed it driving erratically. The officer could detect an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the operator, Collins, who agreed to perform field sobriety tests, police say. Collins was arrested after the officer determined that she was too impaired to drive. Collins was also charged with disobeying a police officer because she provided a false name during booking and on the traffic stop. It was later learned that her license was suspended and she previously had two other convictions for operating after suspension. She was also charged with operating without financial responsibility. During inventory of her belongings at the station, police found her in possession of Adderall without a prescription. She was released on $3,500 personal recognizance bail and ordered to appear in Merrimack's district court to answer the charges.

Patti LeBlond, 38, of 40 Sullivan St., Manchester, was charged with driving after suspension and driving without proof of financial responsibility. On Jan. 24, Merrimack Police stopped a vehicle after it was seen leaving a closed business at 1:40 a.m. The operator, LeBlond, said she was looking for a new vehicle and had stopped to check out a vehicle that was for sale, police say. While police had her stopped, they checked her license and it came back suspended for failure to pay a fee and for lack of insurance.  LeBlond was arrested and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail. She is scheduled to appear in Merrimack's district court on Feb. 12 to answer to the charges.
