A Merrimack man held over the weekend on $10,00 cash-only bail faces sexual assault charges levied against him earlier this month. Merrimack Police say a juvenile girl and her mother went into the police station on March 21 to report the girl had been sexually assaulted by Thomas Costa, 20, of 135 Middlesex Road, Merrimack, back in December. Police say the criminal investigation bureau opened a case to look into the complaint and as a result of their investigation, drafted a warrant for Costa charging him with aggravated felonious sexual assault and sexual assault, a misdemeanor. They arrested Costa on Friday, March 29. Costa was due in court this morning, April 1, for arraignment.
