Merrimack Man Tried To Flee Officer, Arrested: Police

Merrimack police said John Parrinello was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop on Baboosic Lake Road.

MERRIMACK, NH -- A Merrimack man was arrested Monday after police said he fled a traffic stop on Baboosic Lake Road and made a failed attempt to escape back to his house. John Parrinello, 51, was charged with a host of crimes, including resisting arrest. He was released on bond.

Parrinello was driving along Baboosic Lake Road when an officer tried to pull him over for a vehicle infraction, according to Merrimack Police Lieutenant Eric Marquis.

"The officer signaled the operator of the vehicle to stop however the vehicle continued traveling at or near the posted speed limit, ultimately pulling into the driveway of (Parrinello's residence)," Marquis said in a statement. "Parrinello ... exited the vehicle and attempted to flee into the residence but prior to entering the residence he was commanded to stop and was taken into custody."

Marquis said officers learned he was driving the vehicle without permission from the owner.

Parrinello was charged with resisting arrest, disobeying an officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle and being a habitual offender.

Parrinello will be arraigned October 25 in Merrimack District Court.
