Merrimack Police Arrest Man Accused Of Gas Station Assault

Merrimack police said David Dietz, of Arizona, was arrested after assaulting a woman twice.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police recently arrested an Arizona man on charges he assaulted a woman at a gas station. David Dietz, 51, of Mesa, Arizona, was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of assault, domestic violence-related. He was released on bond pending an arraignment.

Police Sgt. William Gudzinowicz said officers were dispatched to the Peachtree Lane gas station Saturday at about 5 p.m. for a report of a disturbance.

"(Officers) spoke with a store employee who stated that a female had come into the store saying that she was assaulted by a male acquaintance and that he was behind the store in a red pickup truck," Gudzinowicz said in a statement.

Officers tracked down the woman, who told them Dietz assaulted her twice by grabbing her by the hair, according to Gudzinowicz. Officers located Dietz behind the gas station and placed him in custody.
