Merrimack Police Close Road For Stand Off On Seaverns Bridge Rd

Seaverns Bridge Road was closed for several hours, and neighbors of a house asked to evacuate while police dealt with a situation

MERRIMACK, NH - Merrimack Police, Fire and EMS responded to an address on Seaverns Bridge Road Saturday afternoon for a report of someone who had been assaulted. Fire and EMS was asked to stay away from the scene while police could assure the scene was safe.

The original call was for Fire and EMS to check a person who had been assaulted.

Merrimack Police quickly closed Seaverns Bridge Road to traffic and re-routed cars around the area of the incident.

The original call was at approximately 4:15 PM, a Nixel alert was sent that the road was closed at 4:28 PM.

Sources confirm that the person in the house refused to come out and was possibly armed. Merrimack Police brought additional units to the scene as well as Nashua Police came on scene to assist.

Just before 6:00 PM, Fire and EMS were cleared from the scene and did not transport anyone. Police opened the road shortly after, and put a Nixel alert out that the road was reopened and area residents and commuters could return to normal.
