Merrimack Single-Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures 47-Year-Old Man
Justin Fortier of Merrimack sustained potentially life-threatening injuries when the vehicle left Bedford Road and crashed into trees.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire Rescue and police responded to a vehicle that had left Bedford Road and crashed into a cluster of trees Monday.
At about 3:30 p.m., dispatch reported airbag deployment on a vehicle and one person was still in the car in the area of 126 Bedford Road. Additional fire personnel were added to the call due to possible entrapment.
Merrimack Police said Justin Fortier, 47, of Merrimack, was the driver of the 2017 Volkswagen Golf and was unconscious when responders arrived at the scene. Fortier was extricated by firefighters and sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. A trauma alert was activated at the Elliot Hospital and Merrimack Fire Rescue transported him from the scene.

Fortier’s vehicle crossed the center line and left the roadway traveling approximately 40 to 50 feet off the road, according to Merrimack Police Sergeant Michael Lambert.
The accident remains under investigation by the Merrimack Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call Sgt. Michael Lambert at 603-420-1867.
