Merrimack Woman Indicted in Car Theft

Other indictments from March include drug and theft charges .

A Merrimack woman accused of stealing a car last year while on a test drive in Nashua was indicted by a Hillsborough County grand jury last week.

Caitlyn Caron, 20, of 33 Meetinghouse Road, Merrimack, was indicted on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking.

According to court documents, Caron was taking a test drive of a vehicle on Nov. 18, when she allegedly took the car. When the salesman stepped out of the vehicle to allow her to drive, Caron allegedly took off at a high rate of speed.

The charge constitutes a class A felony punishable by 7 1/2 to 15 years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines.

Shanna L. Reid, 28, last known to live at 14 Nutmeg Lane, Merrimack, was indicted on a charge of possession of a narcotic drug, codeine. The charge stems from March 15, 2011. According to court documents, Reid has a conviction of possession of a controlled drug in the 6th Circuit Court down in Clearwater, Fla., in December of 2007. The charge constitutes as special class A felony that carries 7 1/2 to 15 years in prison and up to $200,000 in fines.

Richard Rapazzo, 24, of 53 Fairway Drive, Merrimack, was indicted on a charge of theft by deception for allegedly altering seven checks written on another person's account and cashing them to himself. The checks were worth more than $1,500 according to court documents and the incidents happened between Oct. 11 and 18, 2011. The class A felony is punishable by 7 1/2 to 15 years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines.

A second indictment on a theft by deception charge was levied as a class B felony. The indictment alleges that between the same dates, Rapazzo filled out seven deposit slips on closed accounts at TD Bank, purporting them to be open an immediately withdrew more than $1,000 using this method. The charge is punishable by 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines.

Justin Harbeck, 21, of 1 Oak St. , Merrimack,  was also indicted for burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of heroin. Police say they tracked him down from footprints allegedly left in the victim's yard. Read more about his indictment here.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather a grand jury's ruling that there is enough evidence in a case to move it forward toward trial.
