Responding to the needs of industry partners and the community, Nashua Community College is launching several new academic programs and pathways this fall, including:

  • Addiction Support Worker Certificate
  • Automotive Technology – Mazda Pathway
  • Health Science: Pre-Nursing Pathway
  • Aviation Technology

Aviation Technology took a brief hiatus from the program roster last year, but is returning this fall to again offer FAA-approved training in New Hampshire.

The new Addiction Support Worker Certificate is a one-year, 18-credit program is designed for peer helpers and volunteers who want to begin a pathway to professional credentials, which can lead to full time employment in the field with benefits. As a stackable credential, students can also roll credits into a two-year human services associate degree or four-year program. The certificate also complements a psychology degree pathway.

Mazda collaborated with NCC to offer the new Mazda Automotive Student Training (MAST). MAST pathways are currently thriving at college campuses and technology training centers in the U.S., but the new opportunity at NCC will be the first to offer students the choice of a two-year associate degree pathway. Students who have already earned their one-year certification can roll their credits into the two-year automotive technology associate degree with a Mazda pathway at NCC.

The Health Science: Pre-Nursing pathway allows students to explore allied health education before committing to a concentration. The pathway also provides an on ramp for students preparing for the nursing program at NCC. Health Science students who successfully complete pre-nursing pathway courses and meet nursing admission requirements will be given priority for acceptance to the nursing program.
