Nashua Police: Parents Find Razor in Trick-or-Treat Candy

And playoff results, coffee tasting, skate park closing and your weekend forecast.

Check your child's candy. Police in Nashua warned residents last night to check their candy bags after a parent reported finding razor blade in their child's trick-or-treat bag. It's a good practice for all parents to be in, regardless of where you live. If you haven't checked your child's treats yet, do it today.

Playoff results. Congratulations are in order for the Merrimack Varsity boys soccer team who had a tremendous season, making it to the first round of the NHIAA state championship playoffs. The 11th-seeded boys lost their first-round game to six seed Pinkerton Academy 5-1. In additional tournament play, the second-seeded Tomahawk volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over 15th-seeded Nashua South in their first-round game on Thursday. The Tomahawks advance to the quarter-finals against Spaulding High School, of Rochester, on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.

Skate park closing. The Skate Park on O'Gara Drive will be closing for the season on Monday, Nov. 4. Get your last few days of skating in this weekend. The skate park re-opens in the spring.

Coffee tasting. What are you doing Saturday morning? Visit A&E Coffee Roastery's cafe in Amherst for a pour-over demonstration from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. They'll be sampling their new Costa Rican Tarrazu coffee plus two others. Meet the baristas, talk coffee and taste the difference a manual method makes.
