No Shortage of Great Things to do This Weekend
Police open house, Lions Carnival, the Beatles and more!

1. Police open house. Merrimack Police on Saturday will hold its annual open house with exhibits, demonstrations and events for kids. The open house, which will include a presentation honoring the special/auxiliary officers division that is being dissolved at the end of June, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also on tap Merrimack Police has joined forces with the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support the Take25 Program. They will be creating Child ID Kits and talking about child safety all day. Also available for photo opportunities will be the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales. 2. Lions Club carnival. The Lions Club will hold its annual carnival in the parking lot at the Commons, 515 Daniel Webster Highway, this weekend from May 9-12. The carnival features rides, games and food. Proceeds go to the Lions Club's many ongoing fundraisers which include, but are not limited to: providing eye glasses and screenings for the elderly, eye screenings for seventh-graders each year, hearing screenings for different grade levels each year, supporting food pantries in town, providing heating assistance money for residents through the town's welfare office and more.
3. Family fun day. The Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation (www.liliguanausa.org), the leader in proactive and preventative child safety programs, will host its Family Fun Day event on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Nashua High School South located at 36 Riverside Street in Nashua. The overall event will focus on health, fitness, safety, and literacy for children and their families. There will be a large section of the event dedicated to health and fitness including samples of nutritious foods and beverages, and easy and fun ways to stay active and play. Activities at Family Fun Day include Free Diagnostic testing by Allen Mello Dodge, bounce houses by Jump Around NH, Fishercat baseball pitching station, face painting, balloon art, kids activities and crafts, Party Palace princess characters, the New England Brethren of Pirates, coloring contest, and so much more. 4. "Come Together" for a night of entertainment. Beatlemania Stage Show will be performing a one night only performance at the historic McAllistar Hall in Manchester. This event is a fundraiser performance, raising funding for the Central High School Music Department including the band, chorus and orchestra. The production features the entire Beatles story live on stage, including all of your favorite Beatles songs like "She Loves You," "Day Tripper," "Please Please Me," "Sgt. Pepper," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Revolution." Including four costume changes, the production brings you on a Magical Mystery Tour of the Beatles all live on stage in one incredible performance. 5. Classic! The Milford Antiques Show will take place at Hampshire Hills in Milford on Sunday, May. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. More than 80 dealers from various states present a large variety of quality antiques and collectibles at reasonable prices. Admission only $5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Free Admission from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Free parking, no sales tax, ATM machine in lobby, cafe with fresh baked goods and delicious coffee.
