One Taken to Hospital in Evening Crash

Accident that left a van hung up on a stone wall snarled traffic during the evening commute.

A Claremont woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Oct. 16 after hitting a van from behind, pushing the van up onto a stone wall in front of 409 Daniel Webster Highway.

Christina Kilcline, 40, of Claremont, was taken to the hospital following a two-car accident that snarled traffic near the D.W. Diner during the evening commute.

According to Merrimack Police Sgt. Joesph Goodridge, Kilcline was released from Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with minor injuries after her 2000 Saturn collided with a 1995 Toyota Previa driven by 17-year-old Brielle Petrie of Merrimack.

Don Lewis, who owns the home at 409 Daniel Webster Highway but rents it out, said this is not the first time a car has ended up on the stone wall in front of the home. He said it has happened within the last five years.

Lewis said the wall serves it purpose, in protecting the house from being hit by a car. Accidents have happened there frequently he said.

Goodridge said speed, drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, but other charges may be filed.

Merrimack Fire and Rescue also responded to the accident with Merrimack Police.
