Outgoing Councilor Flood to be Recognized Tonight

Merrimack High School will hold it's 12th annual International night fundraiser tonight from 6-8 p.m.

1. Town Council to meet. The Merrimack Town Council will meet tonight for a regularly-scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room in Town Hall. During the meeting they will recognize outgoing Councilor Jackie Flood who is stepping down after a term on the Council. Get the full agenda on the town website.

2. Go cultural. Tonight is Merrimack High School's 12th annual International Festival. Come to MHS from 6-8 p.m. on April 11 for a multi-cultural evening full of international food, dancing, music, information and fun. (There will be more than 60 cultural booths!) Special guest: Moroccan Music with Boujemaa Razgui.

3. Download free music. The Library has recently purchased a one-year subscription to Freegal where, using your library card number, you can download three MP3 songs each week! The titles are from the extensive Sony Music entertainment catalog; the music is free, legal and yours to keep forever. To get started, head to the Merrimack Library website and follow the directions to launch your Freegal downloading opportunities.

4. Register for reading. Register your child older than 4, who would like to practice their reading skills, to read to Dudley, a certified therapy dog. The Merrimack Public Library will have reading materials available, but you are welcome to bring your favorite choice. Need to practice reading aloud in a foreign language? That's fine too! To reserve a 15-minute time slot between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, register online or call the Children's Room at 424-5021. Use an adult Merrimack Library card to register. *Dudley will be accompanied by his companion Reading Specialist Karen Demyanovich who recently retired from the Merrimack School District .

5. Weather watch. More scattered showers today, mainly after 5 p.m., otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 52. Tonight, rain likely, mainly after 1 a.m., otherwise cloudy, with a low around 36. Light northeast wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.
