Police: Man Threatened to Kill Person He Attacked Monday

The following information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Merrimack man was held in lieu of $10,000 cash only bail Monday on charges that he attacked and threatened to kill a person in his home.

David Burke, 43, of Meadowview Drive, Merrimack, was charged on Aug.  5 on charges of second degree assault, two counts of simple assault and criminal threatening.

Police say they were called to a residence on Meadoview Drive for a reported disturbance. There they learned Burke had allegedly pushed his victim down and placed his arm across their throat, impeding the victim's ability to breathe.

It was further alleged that Burke hit his victim in the mouth with a closed fist and threatened to kill the person.

Burke was transported to the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections – Valley Street Jail in Manchester – in lieu of his $10,000 cash bail.

Burke was scheduled to appear before the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack District Division on Aug. 6, to answer to the charges.
