Counterfeit caution.
Boston Police are reminding Red Sox fans to be careful when purchasing tickets for the World Series beginning in Boston on Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Purchasing tickets from unknown entities is done at the buyer's risk, police say, and they recommend using authorized ticketing agencies to get tickets to the games. "Purchasing via other means, creates the potential for possessing either an invalid or counterfeit ticket. Individuals attempting to gain admission using fraudulent tickets will be evicted from the building and face the possibility of arrest," police said in a press release on Monday. If any community members have information about the selling of counterfeit tickets, you are urged to contact District D-4 detectives at (617) 343-4683. Individuals wishing to provide information anonymously may do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
