PSNH Hoping for 80% Restoration by Tonight
Restoration efforts initially hampered by low manpower are moving faster as of Wednesday morning.

Happy Halloween, Merrimack.
It's day three of dealing with Hurricane Sandy and here's what you should know this morning.
According to Emergency Management Director Michael Currier, the only road that remained closed in Merrimack at the start of today was Peaslee Road at the intersection with Naticook Road and Lamson Drive. However a Facebook update from Fire Lt. Rick Gagne, a few minutes before 11 a.m. said that Peaslee Road has been reopened end-to-end.

According to PSNH's Outage list, which was most recently updated numbers, the math, that's about 22 percent of Merrimack's more than 11,000 customers.
Thanks to an infusion of crews from Hydro Quebec that came into New Hampshire last night, who helped work through the night, the town has seen about a 20 percent improvement in those affected by outages since the beginning of yesterday.

According to information PSNH gave to Currier, the town would be notified of line crews in town between 9 and 10 a.m.
"A major issue with the south section of town is the transmission station by Wal-Mart has issues that PSNH will be working on today," Currier said in a report sent out this morning. "Once they get that repaired that is the circuit that feeds that section of the community."
Currier also said the Baboosic Lake area is affected by trees on wires with lines that cross through into Bedford and Amherst.
As far as outage restoration, PSNH told Currier they hope to have at least 80 percent of town back up by this evening, a better outlook than before last night's strides were made, and 99.9 percent by Saturday.
