St. Gobain Won't Pay For Merrimack Water Filters

Merrimack residents said Saint Gobain Performance Plastics should have to pay for water filters at the town's six public schools.

MERRIMACK, NH - Merrimack residents said Saint Gobain Performance Plastics should have to pay for water filters at the town's six public schools. According to WMUR, hundreds of residents the comments came at a public meeting last week to discuss the contamination.

Currently, the town is paying for water filtration in six public schools, which costs over $128,000.

"What they've done elsewhere is more than [in] New Hampshire," said Laurene Allen, part of the group Citizens for Clean Water. "We decided to put a petition together to ask the company to reimburse because the taxpayers are funding this money to filter the schools and they are the responsible party."
