Surveillance Footage Assists in Theft, Fraud Arrest

The following arrest information was provided by the Merrimack Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of a conviction.

A Merrimack woman was charged on Jan. 14 after turning herself in on charges of theft of lost or mislaid property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Tammy Symanski, 34, of 100 Joppa Road, Merrimack, was arrested following an investigation by Merrimack Police that began on Dec. 15 when police say they were alerted to a credit card being illegally used at a local store.

Surveillance footage that captured the woman using the card led authorities to implicating Symanski in the crime, police say.

She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and was ordered to appear in Merrimack's district court on Jan. 22, to answer to the charges.

Joseph Clancy, 32, of 124 London Court, Merrimack, on a charge of criminal mischief. Police say they were called to a residence on Londont Court at 8:51 p.m. on Jan. 15 for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers who responded say they learned a door in the home was damage by Clancy who had since fled the area. An arrest warrant was completed for one count of criminal mischief for Clancy, who was later located in Pelham, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack's district ourt on Jan. 22 to answer to the charge.

John Symes, 42, of 5 Belmont Drive, Merrimack, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI, possession/transportation of a controlled drug. Police say they stopped Symes, who was driving a 2012 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck  on Bedford Road, for a motor vehicle infraction. The officer who stopped Symes detected alcohol on Symes breath and noticed other signs of impairment, police say. Police conducted field sobriety tests before arresting Symes. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is due in Merrimack's district court on Feb. 5 to answer to the charge.
