MERRIMACK, NH — A SUV driving north on the Everett Turnpike lost control for unknown reasons on Friday.

The vehicle skidded out of control and landed on a Jersey barrier in the center median of the highway. Merrimack Fire, EMS, and New Hampshire State Police responded to the crash, about a half a mile south of the Exit 13 offramp. The accident initially shut down the roadway but one lane was quickly reopened.

Good Samaritans stopped and prevented the SUV from tipping over while the occupant was still inside the vehicle. An Ashburnham, Massachusetts, officer who was on the turnpike when it happened assisted at the scene.
