Take the Kids to Saturday's Police Open House

Child ID kits will be available during event loaded with activities and demonstrations.

Merrimack Police on Saturday will hold its annual open house with exhibits, demonstrations and events for kids.

The open house, which will include a presentation honoring the special/auxiliary officers division that is being dissolved at the end of June, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also on tap Merrimack Police has joined forces with the FBI  and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support the Take25 Program. They will be creating Child ID Kits and talking about child safety all day.

Also available for photo opportunities will be the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales.

10 a.m.: Opening Ceremony

  • Master of Ceremonies-Lt. Paul Trepaney

  • Presentation of Colors by Merrimack Police Honor Guard
  • Playing of National Anthem by Merrimack School Students
  • Prayer and Blessing by Father Paul Bouchard Our Lady of Mercy
  • Lowering of Colors to “Half Staff”, lighting of the Memorial Candle commemorating the start of Police Memorial Week
  • Playing of Taps by a MHS student
  • Welcome remarks from Chief Mark Doyle
  • Welcome remarks from the Town Council 
  • Remarks from Chuck Gilboy representing for Congress Woman Carol Shea-Porter
  • Remarks from Citizen’s Academy Rep. Session #18 & donation to MPD
  • Crimeline Donation to K-9 Program from Magic Show
  • Capt. Pete Albert will speak and present to former members of MPD

11 a.m.: K-9 Demo (Gunny)

11:30 a.m.: Bomb Robot Demo (Nashua Police)

Noon: Taser Demo (Merrimack PD)

12:30 p.m.: Bomb Robot Demo (Nashua Police)

1 p.m.: K-9 Demo (Gunny)
