Travel Delays Expected on Turkey Hill Road

Summer roadwork update. The contractor will be working on Turkey Hill Road between West Chamberlain Road and Amherst Road today, Aug. 6, to lower the catch basin and manhole covers prior to cold planning operations next week. Uniformed Officers will be on site to assist traffic through the work zone. Minor delays should be expected from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

Early morning networking. Join the Hometown Business Alliance on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 8-10 a.m. for a friendly, informal gathering of  like-minded business owners and entrepreneurs. Share what you do among a friendly audience,network, make 1:1 appointments to learn more about each others business,  make new business relationships, gain and give referrals! HBA members will have the opportunity to be a 15 minute "Spotlight Speaker/Presenter" showcasing what they do at the HBA's monthly meetings. Lisa Jones Nia NH and Yoga will be Wednesday's speaker. A raffle item will be provided by the presenter. (Register in advance for the event and you will be entered into the raffle!! ) This monthly meeting is in the back of the strip mall at Maverick's Square (Heritage Place) 141 Route 101A (across from Joey's Diner. Call 801-8025 or 235-2000 if you have difficulty finding the event. The Hometown Business Alliance will meet for future early am networking on the first Wednesday, at the same place and time.

For the beer lovers. Here is an event you probably don't want to miss. Four chambers of commerce are joining together to bring you an extensive networking opportunity with a local craft beer tasting sponsored by Bellavance Beverages and hosted by the Holiday Inn, Nashua at The Bounty. The networking event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 5:30 p.m. for a Mega Mixer with the Merrimack, Greater Hudson, Souhegan Valley, andGreater Derry/Londonderry Chambers of Commerce. Bellavance Beverage will be presenting local craft beers to celebrate Oktoberfest and the Holiday Inn Nashua will be serving some tasty treats. Free to attend for members of any of the four sponsoring Chambers; $25 for non-members.  Preregistration is required as this event will sell-out! 

2 & You. Drop in for the final 2 & You story time of the summer. 2 & You is a 40-minute early-literacy class of stories, fingerplays and simple crafts or games. For children ages 24-36 months with an adult caregiver; no registration required. This program is open to Merrimack Library cardholders and runs from 10:15 to 10:55 a.m.

Summer dream day. Despite some early fog expected this morning, today is looking to be a fairly perfect summer day. Make sure you get out and enjoy it! Patchy fog before 7 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Tonight, fire up your fire pit and enjoy a cool night outdoors. Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.
