2 People Injured In Merrimack Crash; Road To Be Closed Overnight

An antique car lost control crashing into a utility pole and bringing wires down on Baboosic Lake Road. The driver was seriously injured.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police and fire responded to Baboosic Lake Road for a report of a car that struck a utility pole and the wires were down on top of the car on Sunday.

While en route, responders were advised there were two people injured and inside the vehicle. When Merrimack police arrived at about 9:50 p.m. they found two people outside of the car that had heavy front-end damage. A utility pole was pulled out of the ground from the impact of the crash and broke. The primary energized power line remained supported between two other utility poles.

A trauma alert was requested at Southern NH Medical for the man driving the car, he was transported with what appeared to be serious head injuries but was conscious and talking to the firefighters. A woman who was a passenger was transported to a local hospital after being evaluated at the scene.

Police closed Baboosic Lake Road between Bean Road and Windsor Drive.

Eversource arrived at the scene and will work overnight to repair the pole. It did not appear that anyone in the area lost power due to the incident. Baboosic Lake Road will remain closed while repairs are made.
