Weekend Fun in Merrimack! Get Out and Give Back

Here are five great activities this weekend for five great organizations. And they are all right here in town.

1. Book sale. In an effort to reclaim the Lowell Room as a reading/meeting room the library has been steadily weeding the collection. As such, they've run out of room to store the weeded books and are holding a special "mid-semester" book sale. The Library Trustees have designated the proceeds from this sale to specifically go to the cost of refurbishing and furnishing the Lowell Room. Items for sale will include things recently withdrawn from the library collection as well as items donated by members of the community. Drop by to see what treasures you might find! Saturday prices range from $.25 to $1 and Sunday afternoon pay the bargain price of $2-5 per bag (depending on the size.) Hours of the sale are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday and 1-3 p.m. on Sunday.

2. It's magical. The sixth annual Merrimack Crimeline Magic Show will be held Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Merrimack American Legion Post 98, 43 Baboosic Lake Road. This event supports the Merrimack Police Department K-9 Program and police dog Gunny, with all proceeds going to the K-9 Program. Meet Gunny with a demonstration at noon. Cost is $5 per person, $2.50 for kids younger than 12, with a $15 family maximum. Magiacians from the Granite State Conjurors and will perform at their tables with stage performers on the 1/2 hour. Consession stand with hot dogs, drinks and popcorn. A raffle will also be held throughout the event.

3. Run for Easter Seals. Race To Renu 5K run/walk benefiting Easter Seal NH steps off April 14 at 9 a.m. and the after party runs until noon. All proceeds will be donated to Easter Seals NH.
