When Are Merrimack's Polls Open?

It's hard to believe but the election is finally upon us.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, the country will decide if it wants four more years with Barack Obama and Joe Biden or a new administration with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

New Hampshire voters will also elect a new governor and decide whether to elect new congressmen, new state reps, new state senators and a whole ballot full of offices.

In Merrimack, the polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at Merrimack High School. There is no voting at St. John Neumann Church or James Mastricola Upper Elementary School.

For ease of getting through the lines, make sure you have your photo ID with you. Below is a statement from Town Clerk/Tax Collector Diane Trippett regarding NH's voter ID law.

"There is conflicting information being reported about Voter ID for next Tuesday’s Election Day. A recent superior court decision blocked new voter registration requirements; however, the requirement for voters to show ID is in effect. A voter who does not possess a valid ID may vote on Nov. 6, if they execute an affidavit or have their identity verified by the moderator, clerk, or supervisor of the checklist.  Voters may contact the Town Clerk's office at with any questions."
