Part-time Community Development Secretary
The Town of Merrimack is accepting applications for the position of Part-time Community Development Secretary. This position performs highly responsible administrative support work for Planning, Zoning, Conservation, and Economic Development and assists in the daily operations of the office.
Requirements include high school diploma or the equivalent, supplemented by course work in clerical skills, including database management, and one year of experience in clerical work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Associate’s degree is preferred.

The normal schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The starting wage for this position is $15.75/hour.

Part-time Media Assistant and On-Call Media Assistant
The Town of Merrimack is accepting applications for the positions of part-time media assistant and on-call media assistant. These positions are responsible for recording Board and Committee meetings and providing training of media production equipment to volunteers, community members and organizations intending to use the Town’s Cable TV Access system. Strong commitment to First Amendment in community programming required.
Must have an associates degree in a field related to video production or broadcast, or any combination of education and experience that would demonstrate that the individual possesses the required skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the required tasks. Minimum of two years experience in video production and practical experience in the use of consumer, industrial, and professional related computer equipment Experience with Final Cut (Express or Pro), Photoshop and other non-linear based editing and imaging software preferred. Position requires possession of a valid NH driver’s license.
The normal work schedule for the part-time position is Monday through Thursday, 4-9 p.m. The schedule will fluctuate to allow for meeting coverage and may include some weekend hours. The Call Media Assistant will be scheduled or called in on an as needed basis to fill in during the normal hours of the part-time Media Assistant or for special events and busy times outside that schedule.

Fire & Rescue Department Call Division Openings
The Town of Merrimack is currently accepting applications for positions within the Call Division of the Fire & Rescue Department. All listed positions require minimum of high school diploma and valid driver’s license. The fire department will be running an interview and testing process periodically as sufficient numbers of applications come in.
The On-Call Part-Time Emergency Medical Service Attendant is a position
with no predetermined schedule. The current shifts are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 3-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and
Sunday. Other minimum qualifications for this position include current Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification (EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic certification preferred), and a state of NH EMS Providers License. Hourly wage is $13.57 per hour.
The Call Division Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician is assigned to a duty
night and is expected to cover every fourth weekend. Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification is required. Applicants who are not currently EMT-B certified will be required to take and pass a written entrance exam and must become certified within one year of hire. If needed, EMT-B training can be provided.
For on-call positions, applicants must be able to respond to calls within an acceptable timeframe to be determined by the Fire Chief.

Seasonal Summer Camp Positions
The Town of Merrimack is seeking applicants to fill the following seasonal positions within our Parks and Recreation Summer Camp Program:
Waterfront Director
General responsibilities: To plan, direct, and supervise the camp’s waterfront program.
Minimum Qualifications: Training and experience in waterfront activities and experience with aquatics management, experience overseeing and administering an aquatics program, ability to schedule and supervise staff, desire and ability to work with children outdoors, ability to relate to one’s peer group, ability to accept guidance and supervision. Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control, at least 21 years of age, current Red Cross CPR / First Responder and Advanced First Aid Certifications to include:
- CPR/AED for the professional Rescuer Instructor
- Lifeguarding Instructor
- Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Lifeguard / Waterfront First Aid
Additional preferred qualifications: Lifeguarding/Waterfront Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Small Craft Safety
Assistant Waterfront Director
General responsibilities: To teach and help coordinate camp’s waterfront and swimming activities; to help maintain standards that lead to a quality program; and to assist in the planning and supervision of the camp’s waterfront program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Assist with waterfront activities and management
Ability to assist with scheduling and supervising staff
Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
Ability to relate to one’s peer group
Ability to accept guidance and supervision
Good character, integrity and adaptability
Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
College student or at least 18 years of age
Current Certifications must include:
- CPR/AED for the professional Rescuer
- Lifeguard / Waterfront First Aid
- Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized program
- Bloodborne Pathogens Training
Additional preferred qualifications: CPR/AED for the professional Rescuer Instructor, Lifeguarding/Waterfront Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Small Craft Safety
