Woman Charged With Theft of Merrimack Man's Checks

Police say they expect further arrests. The following information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Methuen, Mass. woman was charged with felony level theft by Merrimack Police after she was allegedly caught on bank surveillance videos cashing stolen checks from a Merrimack man.

Police arrested Adrianna White, 22, of Milk Street in Methuen, Mass., on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking, a felony, when she was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 30.Police say they picked up White from the Windham Police Department after she was arrested there on an outstanding warrant out of Merrimack that stemmed from an investigation into stolen checks that began back in June.

A resident reported several of his checks were stolen out of a checkbook in his house. White was an acquaintance of his and became a suspect, police say. The checks were later cashed at several area banks where detectives assigned to the case were able to identify White, seen in surveillance video.

Merrimack Police are working closely with other departments to identify others who have cashed some of the checks and further charges are expected.
