Addiction in The Media

Portsmouth, NH - Verve Creative Communications and the Addiction Recovery Coalition of New
Hampshire have organized a panel discussion, titled “Addiction in the Media”, which will take
place at the Portsmouth Public Library on Monday, November 18 from 10am-12pm. This event
will be open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

This panel discussion will focus specifically on how addiction and Substance Use Disorder is
covered in the media, and the various ways in which we can improve our communications
surrounding this important topic. Gray Somers, Executive Director of the Addiction Recovery
Coalition, Jim Schachter, President of New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR), and Jodi Newell, a
current New Hampshire State Representative, will be participating in this panel discussion.
The panel is sponsored by Amerihealth Caritas of New Hampshire, a leading provider of
healthcare solutions, and CleanCause Foundation, an organization which helps fund recovery
housing initiatives across the nation.
