Mason Man Killed After Crashing Snowmobile Into A Tree Early Sunday Morning
Dejay Ducharme, 37, of Mason struck a tree on Old County Road. Mason Police, Fire and EMS, Brookline Ambulance Service, and NHSP responded.

MASON, NH - A Mason man was killed in a snowmobile crash early Sunday morning after his snowmobile veered off Old County Road and struck a tree. The victim has been identified as Dejay Ducharme, 37, of Mason, New Hampshire.
New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers were alerted to a possible fatal snowmobile crash near 472 Old County Road at approximately 2:14 AM. The initial report indicated an adult male had crashed, and CPR was underway.
Responding to the scene were members of the Mason Fire Department, Brookline Ambulance Service, Mason EMS, the Mason Police Chief, and New Hampshire State Police Troopers.

Upon arrival, Conservation Officers determined that Ducharme was operating his snowmobile on Old County Road when he left the roadway at a high rate of speed and collided with a tree.
Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by emergency personnel, Ducharme was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary findings suggest that alcohol, speed, and operating the snowmobile on a public way are the leading contributing factors in the crash. Authorities also noted that Ducharme was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Conservation Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
