My name is Andrew and I am a student of the Milford School District. New Hampshire’s state flag (shown in picture 1) needs updating and these are the 3 reasons why.
1. The flag of New Hampshire is the state seal, which is the Revolutionary War ship, the USS Raleigh, being built in Kittery, ME. Keep in mind that NH has the shortest coastline in the country (at a measly 18 miles). On top of that, the ship was captured by the British forces. That is why New Hampshire's flag is not representative of this state.
2. New Hampshire’s state flag is also nearly identical to over half this country's state flags. If you look at Picture 2, you will see that most state flags have a blue background or a state seal/coat of arms.

3. New Hampshire’s flag was rated the 10th worst flag in the U.S. and Canada in a 2001 survey by the North American Vexillological Association.
That is why I have contacted Representatives, Selectmen and Senators for support of this design: A circle of 9 stars inside the Old Man of the Mountain. Next to Old Man of the Mountain is a field of white and a field of blue. On the bottom field is our state's motto, Live Free or Die. I believe this design is more unique and representative of the people of New Hampshire.

That is why I hope that this flag will soon be flying over New Hampshire as its new state flag. If you are a town official, state official or state legislator and would like to support this contact me at andrewnhflag@gmail.com
