RR Auction Puts 'Schindler's List' Up for Bid

Oskar Schindler's documents are expected to sell for at least $50,000.

RR Auction in Amherst has yet another important piece of history up for grabs in their latest auction, according to WMUR.

The auction house is offering a collection of documents from Oskar Schindler, including a letter that inspired the movie “Schindler’s List.” The German industrialist has saved 1,000 Jewish workers during World War II.

In his letter, Schindler details the move of his enamelware factory out of Poland and into Czechoslovakia. This move saved the lives of his workers. The letter reads as follows:

“The employee of my armament factory, Adam Dziedzic, residing in Krakau, Nadwaislanska 21, on the order of the general military command in Krakau, received a clearings contract for unloading and assembling war-necessary machinery and has been sent to Sudetengau. This certificate is temporarily valid until September 30, 1944.”

The documents have been authenticated by historians and ais expected to sell for at least $50,000.
