Student Information Update Day in Milford School District

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Expect another hot one in Milford with a high of 88 and partly cloudy skies. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 65.

2. STUDENT INFORMATION UPDATE DAY: The Milford School District will host a second student information update day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be representatives from all schools available in the high school cafeteria to update student information. Bring the current emergency contact information and doctor’s names and phone numbers. Update all of your children’s information in one location.

3. CHILDFIND NOTICE: From the Milford School District website:

Milford School District has a duty to locate, evaluate and identify any child residing in the District who qualifies for Special Education services or any child attending the public schools who may require Section 504 accommodations or services. 

Children eligible for special education include those children with disabilities who have an intellectual disability, autism, deaf-blindness, emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, visual impairment, or developmental delay and who, because of such an impairment, need special education services. 

Children eligible for Section 504 accommodations or services include those children who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORYOn this day in 1950, officials of the United States Lawn Tennis Association (USLTA) accept Althea Gibson into their annual championship at Forest Hills, New York, making her the first African-American player to compete in a U.S. national tennis competition.
