3 Charged With Theft Conspiracy At Verizon, AT&T Stores In Nashua
Nashua police say three men were using deception to steal Apple iPhones from Verizon Wireless and AT&T stores.
NASHUA, NH — Police have arrested three New York men who are charged with working together to steal from local Verizon Wireless and AT&T stores. According to police, they used fraud to obtain iPhones from the stores by falsely identifying themselves as representatives of various business. The stores targeted were Verizon Wireless and AT&T, both located at Daniel Webster Highway.
The three men were arrested around 4:41 p.m. Thursday. Alan Chen, 33, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit theft by deception in excess of $1,500, a Class A felony. David Lau, 34, and Philip Yeung, 40, were each charged with one count of attempt to commit theft by deception in excess of $1,500, also Class A felonies. Chen was also arrested on a warrant out of the Essex County, New Jersey, Sheriff's Office in connection to another fraud-related case.
After his arrest Chen was held at the Hillsborough County jail pending arraignment that was scheduled for Friday. Lau and Yeung were released on a bond pending arraignment on April 25 at Hillsborough County Superior Court. Each Class A felony charge they face carries a maximum possible sentence of 15 years in prison, not including fines.
