Elderly Manchester Pedestrian Killed When Struck By Nashua Woman Driving A Crossover
Responders rushed to the scene on South Willow Street on Monday afternoon and provided medical aid to the woman who died a short time later.
MANCHESTER, NH — An elderly Manchester woman died from injuries after she was struck by a Nashua woman driving a car on South Willow Street Monday night.
Manchester Police, Fire, and AMR ambulance responded to South Willow Street near the Mall of New Hampshire and Barnes and Noble around 5:30 pm. Responders were advised of a woman in the road who had been struck by a vehicle. Firefighters and AMR personnel immediately began providing medical treatment and activated a trauma alert at the Elliot Hospital.
AMR, with the assistance of firefighters, transported the woman to the hospital, where she succumbed to injuries a short time later. A Mazda CX-9 remained at the scene and had heavy front-end damage. The 52-year-old driver also stayed at the scene and cooperated with police during the investigation. The driver of the car was not physically injured.

Manchester police said the Mazda was traveling north on South Willow Street just north of Huse Road and struck the woman. When the woman was struck, she was thrown about 25 feet, according to a radio broadcast from AMR ambulance. The pedestrian was identified as Cynthia M. Farland, 65, of Manchester, by her sister, who reached out to us.
There are no crosswalks on South Willow Street north of the intersection, up to the Mall of New Hampshire entrance.
