News you can use, meant to inform, enlighten and entertain.

1. Breakfast at Nancy's Diner: Doors open today at 5:30 a.m. on the '50s-themed Nancy's Diner, 25 Canal Street. Too early? It's OK - they'll stay open for lunch, too, until 2 p.m. Like them on Facebook, then stop by for a meal, and tell them Nashua Patch sent you.
2. Who Mutilates Midwestern Cows? Perhaps the question is not who, but what? This report by a Missouri CBS affiliate is downright supernatural – quoting farmer Lyn Mitchell, who told the Mutual UFO Network that she wasn't ruling out aliens.
3. Like Trading Baseball Cards, Only More Expensive: Boston general manager Ben Cherington announced a three-team, seven-player deal in which Boston received 32-year-old veteran starter Jake Peavy. You can read all about the trade updates here.
4. 'Parks & Rec' Fans Will Miss Rashida and Rob: Fans of the show "Parks & Rec" know them as Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger, and will likely be sorry to see actors Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe exit mid-way through the coming season. Here's more on that.
5. Summer Concert on the Plaza: It's a sister act you won't want to miss at the Nashua Library, Ari and Mia, a spirited duo that explore the traditions of Southern Appalachia, Northeastern fiddle, and early American swing and jazz in addition to composing their own pieces. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Summer Concerts on the Plaza are held downstairs in the Music/Art/Media Wing if it rains, 7 p.m. Click here for a sneak preview of their music.
